Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Vynta is an AI-powered task scheduling application developed by Murshid R, a student developer based in Chennai, India. This Privacy Policy explains how the Vynta Android application ("the App") collects, uses, and protects your information.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Google Account Information

When you sign in with Google, we receive:

• Your name and email address (used to identify your account within the app)
• A Google OAuth token (used to access your Google Calendar on your behalf)

We do not receive or store your Google password.

2.2 Google Calendar Data

With your explicit permission, Vynta accesses your Google Calendar to:

• Read existing calendar events to avoid scheduling conflicts
• Create new calendar events when you schedule a task through Vynta
• Update or delete calendar events you created through Vynta

We access only the minimum calendar data needed for scheduling. We do not read, store, or process the content of your existing personal calendar events beyond checking for time conflicts.

2.3 Task Data You Create

When you create tasks in Vynta, we store locally on your device:

• Task title, description, and deadline you provide
• Energy level (Low, Medium, High) you select
• Scheduled time and duration
• Completion status
• AI-generated scheduling explanations

This data is stored in a local Room database on your device. It is not uploaded to any cloud server operated by us.

2.4 Data Sent to AI Provider

When you create or describe a task, the text you input is sent to the Groq API (operated by Groq, Inc.) to process natural language and generate a scheduled time. This data is governed by Groq's Privacy Policy. We do not send your calendar contents or personal identifying information to Groq.

2.5 App Preferences

We store your app preferences locally on your device using Android DataStore, including:

• Working hours settings
• Buffer time preferences
• Theme selection (Light / Dark / System)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected solely to:

• Authenticate you via Google Sign-In
• Schedule tasks into your Google Calendar
• Process natural language task descriptions through our AI provider
• Display your task history and productivity data within the app
• Send you local notifications about scheduled tasks

We do not use your information for advertising, analytics, or any purpose beyond operating the core features of the app.

4. Data Storage and Security

All task data and preferences are stored locally on your device. We do not operate cloud servers that store your personal data. Your Google OAuth credentials are stored securely using Android's credential storage system and are never transmitted to any server we operate.

Communication between the app and Google Calendar API / Groq API uses HTTPS encryption.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties, with the following exceptions:

• Google: Your Google Calendar data is accessed via Google's APIs under Google's own Privacy Policy
• Groq: Task description text is sent to Groq's API for AI processing under Groq's Privacy Policy
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law

6. Google API Limited Use Disclosure

Vynta's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

• We only use Google Calendar data to provide and improve the scheduling features you directly request
• We do not use Google data to serve advertisements
• We do not allow humans to read your Google Calendar data unless you explicitly request support
• We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide the service

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Your task data exists only on your device. You can delete all app data at any time by:

• Going to Android Settings → Apps → Vynta → Clear Data
• Uninstalling the app
• Signing out from within the app (this revokes calendar access)

To revoke Google Calendar access at any time, visit Google Account Permissions and remove Vynta.

8. Children's Privacy

Vynta is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at murshidreyas@gmail.com.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
